Steelwork within concrete bridges can corrode and weaken over time. Using specialised equipment, a survey of the steelwork can be carried out to ascertain the bridges strength.
Recent bridge collapses in the United states has highlighted the need for such surveys to be undertaken on a periodic basis. Eurotest have advanced software that analyses the results and can pin-point problem areas within the bridge structure before a catastrophic failure occurs.
